Q Is laser hair removal permanent?

A Laser hair removal offers permanent hair reduction, but 100% removal is not possible with lasers.  It is believed that 1-5% of hair will not respond to laser treatments.  We will permanently remove any of these remaining hairs with electrolysis.

Q What should I do before my laser treatment?  

A. Avoid sun exposure.  You cannot wax, tweeze, thread or have electrolysis for 4 weeks before a treatment.  To manage hair between appointments, please shave or trim.

Q What should I expect after a treatment?

A. After a treatment the skin may be red and bumpy becuase it is irritated, and this is absolutely normal.  We recommend protecting the treated skin from the sun.  The area should be moisturized with clear aloe gel.

After your initial treatment, you should enjoy a significant reduction of hair. However, it will take 2-4 weeks for the treated hair to push its way to the surface and fall out.

Q Is laser hair removal painful?

A The treatment does have a slight prickly or stinging sensation. Most of our clients are able to tolerate the treatment without difficulty. However, every person's level of sensitivity is different and treatment areas may vary.

Q How many sessions will I need ?

A On average most clients will require 5-8 treatments.  Finer hair and dark skin clients may require 6-10 treatments.  If you suffer from a hormone imbalance you may require additional touch-up treatments.

Q How long should I wait between treatments?

A The general guideline is 6 weeks for the face and neck and 8-10 weeks for the rest of the body.

Q Does laser work on blonde or white hair?

A No, for fine blonde, red, white or gray hair laser will not be effective.  We can remove this type of hair with electrolysis.

Q What areas can be treated?

A Almost all areas of the body with the exception of the skin below the eyebrows as it is too close to the eyes, ears and genitals.  The most popular areas that are treated are the upper lip, chin, underarm areas, legs and bikini areas for women.  For men, the chest, back, legs, and arms are commonly treated.
